Joystick/GPI

Joystick / GPI is for receiving momentary pulsed GPI triggers from external devices via the PC’s Game Port. On modern PC’s and motherboards, older style ‘parallel’ game ports can be added as PCI adaptor cards. Alternately, you can use a USB Joystick in place of a game port adaptor. Either type of joystick will give you 4 GPI input triggers.

1.The playback for which you want to define events has to be on air. Select it in the On Air drop-down menu (top right). Also select it in the Editing drop-down menu (top left).

2.Go to File > Advanced On-Air playback Settings.

3.Select the Joystick/GPI tab.

4.Decide which of the first 4 GPI triggers for Joystick 1 you wish to use, for example, Joystick 1 Button 1.

5.Either press the 'browse' button (…) to select an existing command and control script, or enter a name (no spaces or punctuation) for a 'new' script and press the edit button.

6.Follow the instructions in the 'Creating and Editing a Command and Control Script' section later in this document.

When you have completed editing the Script, you can define another trigger and script, or press the OK button. You will be prompted to re-start the Audience playback engine for changes to take effect.
